Implementing a FICO TRIAD is a massive undertaking.  Often it's difficult to get the help you need when you need it, you need someone to turn to that has done it before and can guide you.  TRIAD integration is a community of TRIAD professionals, working together to provide the answers you need.  Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) have over 30 years experiences implementing TRIAD projects and helping to get the most from their systems in countries across the world.

Where is the SAMS110A Report?

The FRRP (Formatted Report Record Print) replaces what was previously known as the SAMS110A report.
After a daily run of TRIAD, the SAMRRREC file can be loaded in to the SQL database (TRIAD_8_Rpt_Rec) using the DBLoad utility.
Then, using either the supplied Excel dqy query files or directly querying the database, you can view the values that are in the report record files.
Excel needs to be 2003 or higher or the dqy files are not recognised.

Using Excel means the users can use the standard filters within Excel to quickly find the data you are looking for.

Where is the SAMS900A (Audit) Report?

The traditional (mainframe) Audit Report no longer exists, although there is a Report produced within Business Objects. The tables on the PCTMS are audited, the audit process creates a new audit control file which holds information on each of the other tables (including number of records and date/time stamps). All of the PCTMS tables are uploaded to the Mainframe and converted to VSAM. During the conversion process on the mainframe, a series of checks are performed to ensure the right files (based on date/time stamps) have been uploaded and the correct number of records exist on the table.

What is the different between standard keys and user defined keys?

TRIAD comes with "Standard Keys" these are keys that have been used across the industry and have increased as TRIAD has evolved based on client feedback/requirements. TRIAD has 344 Standard Keys. TRIAD itself allows for 999 keys so effectively there are 655 non-standard or User Defined Keys (UDK). The UDK start at key number 345 so Key Number 345 is User Defined Key 1.

What is the PC Estimator?

If you are new to TRIAD or use to previous versions you have probably never heard of the PC Estimator. TRIAD Estimators are typically run on the Mainframe processing the complete portfolio to determine what outcomes you can expect if you make certain changes to the control tables. As this process is on the whole portfolio it is typically an overnight process (some banks have longer SLA's). So the business users can determine the impact of there changes in faster time, we run effectively the same process on the PC however with a sample of the data.

How long will TRIAD take to run

Each implementation will be different so there are many variable including the mainframe you are running on, and the set-up of the application. However FICO have documented various performance runs to act as a guide.

Various PCTMS configurable setting will impact the time it takes to run TRIAD. If you have a tight batch window there are numerous things you can do to help performance. However this may mean you lose some functionality or have to run additional processes outside of the batch window.

How can I automate the DBLoad process within TRIAD

The DBLoad takes files from the mainframe and loads them into the Reporting DB's. The application has a GUI for the user to configure and select the type of files to be loaded. However the best solution would be to automate this function. Essentially the GUI updates ten scripts (defined below). If you are able to pre-define these scripts then it would be possible to automate this complete function.

1. AdHoc.cmd - Ad-Hoc Reports
2. AuthEstimator.cmd - Authorizations Estimator Reports
3. AuthFormatted.cmd - Authorizations Formatted Print

What are the sizes of the SQL DB's?

It is difficult to predict the sizes of the SQL DB's. Essentially the sizes are dependent on the PCTMS set-up so can change. However FICO can provide spreadsheets which once your set-up have been entered will predict the sizes of the Databases. This will certainly provide you will a good indication.

What format should the TRIAD files be in?

TRIAD converts the files where necessary so all file transfers should be in BINARY format.
